I went outside to shoot film today and I have never felt more alive
I missed shooting with my Nikon F-800 35mm camera. Looking through the lens of my DSLR, and then switching to my film camera was like magic happening right in front of my eyes. Everything looked so beautiful and I wanted to capture it all. Fluffy white dandelions, lilac flowers, bright green leaves… and it all smelled so good. The air was warm and the wind was refreshing. But one thing I realized, is that even though I want to capture everything, some things are more beautiful to me when I just lay my camera down onto my lap and take it all in without tripping the shutter. To just absorb it, to bask in it, to let it all tickle my senses. That sometimes is really what’s important. Those are the moments for me that I feel at peace, I feel a sense of wonder and beauty, and life flutters through my veins. So I lay in the grass this afternoon staring up at this beautiful line of trees, their bright leaves dancing in the wind and the sun flickering behind them. Today was truly a special day.
